Me too, he always seemed to be quietly in control of himself, not just as Spock, and not as egotistical as Bill Shatner. Too bad he smoked.

Nice PBS show a while back of him walking around his old neighborhood, which is gone now, and reminiscing.
Took him a while to reach peace with being a cultural icon, but I think it worked out in the end.
