Received the caps for the QSC amps. And the resistor for the dummy load.
Now, THAT's a resistor.
I'm going to mount this to my footrest, so I can keep my toes warm while I'm practicing.

Looking the same aspect from a different point of view, you can buy good equipments, just a bit aged, for really few bucks.
I've currently some announcements in music sites, inforMing people that I buy amp stuff that needs to be repaired. Many people write me about that.

Swapped out all sixteen 15,000uF/50V caps (eight in each QSC MX1500a). Tests look perfect. 520 watts clean output per channel into 4.7ohm load. Ready to rock the rack again!

They tested well. Have not heard them live, though.

Regarding SS stuff, it really does depend on what the market for the product is.
I have been repairing a few recording consoles this year. Those things are all SS, have been for a long, long time and the better ones are incredibly well thought out regarding repair, design, workability, etc. I used to completely write off SS audio gear, but after diving into to the better quality pieces of gear i can say its not more complicated than tube stuff - look up the EEV blog guy and his explanation on opamps, and a few other audio electronics videos and as a repairperson you will have 90 percent of the info you need to know.
