One could build a mother of all vacuum tubes in there..imagine the moment of flashing 1000 kilos of getter material.

What a bunch of pussies they didn't even stay in the chamber for the experiment.

Terrific, good post.
Got to go to Pisa next week, this saves me a trip up the tower carrying a watermelon and a grape.

Yes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C5_dOEyAfk
...and I was thinking how expensive it must have been to do that experiment in the vacuum chamber! My favorite part is when the feathers hit the bottom and bounce around like springs.

All that proves is that if you're going bowling in space you'd better use a bowling ball, rather than feathers.

But it's also useful to remember that if you're in outer space, and you're out of bullets, it's equally useful to fire your remaining feathers at near-light velocity.NickC wrote:All that proves is that if you're going bowling in space you'd better use a bowling ball, rather than feathers.
