We spent this last weekend in Memphis and saw some cool stuff - Graceland, the Stax museum (very worthwhile), the river walk, and toured Sun Studios (even got into the control room, briefly).
At Sun. I noticed the pile of amps under the control room window - a bunch of ancient Gibson combeaux, a B15, a couple of tweed things I couldn't quite identify - I think they were a 5E3 Deluxe and either a Princeton or a Harvard. The two that surprised me were the PR reissue and the Excelsior.
I suppose whatever band was going to be recording that evening owned those, but if not, it seems like an endorsement that they'd be in the stable at such a venerated place.
