Very cool. Great city.

This has got to be one of the most boring photo assignments. "OK, we've set up the gear. Now you sit here for the next eight hours and make sure nobody messes with this stuff. Enjoy."

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Also some of the scenes incorporate panning. Take a pic, move the camera an inch, wait an hour, take another pic...

Pan and zoom by hand? Hope not! I was imagining some digitally controlled stepper motors...

Yeah surely they have some automated setup doing those pans, or they were done afterwards digitally. Nobody is that patient these days!

Yeah, they mention special equipment in the credits. But you still have to sit there so no one steals it.

I actually studied animation in college (in the days before computer animation). Doing stop motion with circular camera moves got me some serious creed from the professor. I stole the idea after watching Pink Floyd At Pompei at a late night theatre while tripping on acid. I was literally hanging on to the seat in front of me, because I thought the entire theater was spinning around the performance.
