hahaha i wear one of those all the time. It won't negate a direct kick, but it works for those painful glancing blows.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

That tool looks interesting. As with everything Stew-Mac, it's overpriced. I've used rubber band(s) to hold the feelers. Worked for me.

well, I don't think I like the 50's wiring.

So back it goes.

Well for one thing I kind of liked the tone of it before I changed it.
Stock it had two .022 ceramic discs and I changed those to 6PS orange drops, same value.

After the change it seemed a bit more harsh which I thought weird because going from ceramic to a film cap would seem like it would smooth it out.
It was like there was some crap on the top end I didn't remember from the original.

Also, when in middle position if I turned down either volume pot it would silence the guitar.

This guitar does have ~500K pots, I measured the tone pots when I had them un-wired and I got around 470K on each.

I don't think I want to spend $100 for matched pots from RS but I think for now I am going to change it back to what it was.

This guitar is supposed to have the '57 humbuckers which I don't know jack about but they seem OK.
I'm not going to go down the road like I have before on my Strats and try every humbucker under the sun.
Although the 36th Anniversary PAF's sound good in my Schecter C1.

I have 50's wiring and one volume all the way off will turn both off but until I get to zero I can actually mix the two pups together to get the tone I like. Usually I roll off some of the bass pup as it is usually louder anyway even though I have it way down inside the pup ring.

Are you saying that a little volume drop on either pup will turn the guitar off in mid position?

No, only if I turned one volume all the way down would turn off the sound when the switch was in the middle position.

Well I have a confession to make.

I ordered the StewMac nut file thingy.

Although I won't pay them $28 for a feeler gauge set.....

The Les Paul is all new to me.

This is to become my main guitar even if it kills me! :D
