Jim Hall - that's all

Post by Leo_Gnardo »

Jazz guitarist Jim Hall now one for the history books. Been digging his playing since @ 1975. Early 90's I was lucky to mix a concert featuring Jim Hall & Ron Carter.

Always a talented and intriguing player with a mellow tone.

NPR just reported Jim passed away in his sleep last night, a week after his 83'd birthday.

Saw him several times in clubs in the 70s, wonderful player, sweet man.
Only guy I ever saw who as he dug into a solo, would turn his guitar down,
until you only heard the acoustic sound.

What a great feel.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

RIP. Saw him at the Monterey Jazz Festival and attended a long question and answer interview that was spectacularly interesting. A giant and a gentleman.
