Is it a Baker?

I kind of like it but I'm sure it is out of my price range which is currently zero. :D

Why not a Firebird headstock with banjo tuners?

Doug Kauer started out by making Firebird clones.

I knew him (through the ReRanch Forum) when he made kitchen cabinets and got into making guitars.

Now he is a great guitar maker offering several different models.

I loved his Daylighter series.

The headstock is sort of reminiscent of that B3 guitar but more refined.

headstock is a sticking point for me too. awful.

I thought those RS Guitars V Teles were cool looking until I played one. The custom still looks cool but it's so terrible. Their guitars are yucky.

I want to get a lot better at building guitars just dont have time and its hard to pull out guitar building stuff when your shop is piled up with kitchen cabinets.
I think after the kitchen I'm doing now gets out I'll have some free shop.maybe I can finish the walnut top tele that's been laying around for two years.

I already got the fender factory beat on playability.

Sorry I meant to post Doug's website.

No affiliation other than I know he builds a good guitar.

http://kauerguitars.com/

But, I think most of us make our own, other than a LP.
Self gratuitous picture.

it is pretty fun playing a song you wrote on a guitar you built through an amp you made the only thing better is playing how many more times on a 59 les paul through a 68 100w marshall
