Have a happy one, from Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band. (How would you like to go on stage lookin' like this?)

I must be getting old.
I actually dread Halloween anymore.

We actually went to a Halloween party last Saturday.
I went as a amp building, guitar playing, fool.
My wife was my assistant.

In other words, we didn't wear any costumes.

Most parties seem kind of lame anymore.
They are either boring or out of control with some dipshit wearing a lampshade. :D

Halloween lost it's luster after my adolescence and then LSD days passed.

Couple of years ago I found a writeup on the Trout Mask photo session. That's a carp head they bought at a local fish store, and by the end of the session it was stinkin' pretty bad. The things you have to suffer for your art...

Also found the Magic Band has reassembled & playing gigs over the last decade or so. Some shows coming up in Holland, Germany & UK starting in only a week or so. I'd go check that out if I was nearby.

Gotta love Don & the boys. Saw 'em in Houston back in the day (late 70s? early 80s?). One of the better performances I've ever seen. I think I still have the poster from the Texas Ballroom. 'Bat Chain Puller!'
