Hi everybody, first timer here..

you know i think those little marshalls use an LM386 Low Voltage Audio Power Amplifier. These will put out 1/2 a watt into 8 ohms at nine volts really neat little ICs, you can include a gain, volume and tone controls as well, check out the Noisy Cricket amp... I have made sub-miniature tube preamps to drive these power amps and they can make a great sounding amp

(but tubes are better  )

Micro amps are far more popular in studio than you probably think.

Bangor Maine??
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

I have a Vox Mini3 modeling amp($99). I bought it after hearing a busker in the subway play a wide range of styles on it, clipped to his belt.

You'd be suprized what it can do into a 4-12 cab.

With every passing year, as my hearing fades into the sunset, I like solid state more and more -- NOT!

But, for bedroom levels, it is still the only game in town, and getting better. I use one of these for late night playing.

Admitedly, I am plying through a tube amp, but at such low levels, it hardly matters.

I originally bought them for playing through unfamiliar amps, like at a studio, or at a jam. The Oxford killed in a hard rock jam with an unfamiliar modern Marshall - I just set the amp clean and let the pedal do the rest. And the Liverpool makes my friend's Deluxe Reverb sound like something even when it is on 1 (these guys play too quiet for my taste).

And to complete the subject line....

Great tone comes from.....your hands.
