Mouser wins the Indy 500
Mouser backed the right horse.

Now if they could fix their search function...

Re: Mouser wins the Indy 500
A good read. I didn't know Mouser was part of Warren Buffet's empire. And I completely agree about the search function gripe.

I like Mouser's search engine much better than Digi-Key's! And CE Distribution's search engine pretty well sucks too....

DigiKey's isn't too great either. Luckily, for CE, I've gotten used to where everything is and never have to use it.

You are a demanding lot. You want smart searches on maybe 1 million parts and cheap prices too? Just what are your priorities?
BTW, I agree that the search engine is seriously lacking. The best search I can do is to use their paper catalog. I highly recommend it.

Let's see.... smart searches on a million inexpensive parts, a strawberry margarita, oh yeah, a '59 gold top would be nice, an unlimited supply of funds. And while we're at it, can I also get about 30 years taken off of my age?Phil_S wrote:You are a demanding lot. You want smart searches on maybe 1 million parts and cheap prices too?

Yes. 1 million parts is exactly why the search engine should be smarter. You want smart searches on maybe 1 million parts and cheap prices too?...
I prefer to thumb through the paper catalog as well. I have a hard time with the immense waste of resources to print that damn thing.

I don't have one. What is it, like a phone book or something?vibratoking wrote:Yes. 1 million parts is exactly why the search engine should be smarter. You want smart searches on maybe 1 million parts and cheap prices too?...

Yeah, like the Manhattan phone book. Ask for one next time you order. Mine is a little out of dateBlackburn wrote:I don't have one. What is it, like a phone book or something?
Re: Mouser wins the Indy 500
Yes, it's like a Manhattan phone book... two volumes! I do like looking through it but when look for a particular part I wind up distracted by what I see along the way (Dad used to say, "a leaf blew across his path") and so my order grows. Sometimes I actually get what I was looking for.
I think Mouser could take some notes from Newark. I know they don't have near the sheer numbers but their search is very nice.
