He was a living legend, a monumental musician of epic proportion.

Laying on my stomach in the middle of the living room floor face propped up on my hands.. kicking my feet 160 times a minute and diging the excitement that music creates in all kinds of people.. back when taste wasn't rare, and most people were pretty cordial with each other.

Thanks for the fuel, Earl! Don't let Monroe call the song list.

There's no doubt he did more for banjo.He had a huge influence on guitar players also.Think of Jerry's Reeds breakdown,
The banjo was considered a prop for comedians before Earl.He transended so many different styles and was always breaking new ground.

My first stringed instrument was the banjo and i learned some scruggs. Sorry to hear this news. I found out here just now! I just saw him last week on tv...
