Yes I saw that. Only 66! I thought he was older than that. Weekly scenes of obsessed crazed girls chasing their band in 'Hey Hey We're The Monkees' got me thinking of the advantages of a rock'n'roll lifestyle as a young'n.
He who dies with the most tubes... wins

I thought he was much older as well.
I'm still waiting on the Last Train from Clarksville.

Ahhh! The perspective of youth!!!!!
When I saw this I was thinking "WOW is he that old,....?" I liked the show. It looks ridiculous now, but there had never been a TV show quite like it at the time. Kind of a 60's Ozzie and Harriett. (ask your grandparents)

Yes my sister had a crush on Davey.
Pictures all over the walls, etc.
I thought the group as a whole were a bit goofy as was the show but there is no denying that they were popular.
Interesting concept of inventing a band to sell records and TV shows.
At first all they did was sing a bit, Mike Nesmith was the only one that knew how to play as well as Peter Tork could play some guitar, but later on I think they did actually play their instruments.
My sis went to see them at the Portland Coliseum in the late 60's and even she could tell they were lip syncing.
Anyway, Rest in Peace Davey.
