Kenilworth was a blast, the buzz is just barely fading now. Rumor has it the next one is/was supposed to be in the Boston area in the Spring, any news? thanks!

I would also like to know about this. I am in the Boston area, and I would love to see and hear member's creations.
Sometimes I'm good, then I'm bad..

I will be organizing one in May in the Boston area. This is a companion to HeeBGB's November NJ Ampfest. I'm working out a location and will post info soon.

I was tempted to fly out to Minneapolis for the ampfest out there on the 24th but I have a gig that weekend.
I have a couple ripping roaring low and medium wattage amps I'd like to A/B next to other similar amps. Just for fun I'm tempted to put together something ultra loud and ultra crude for The Big Amp Room. You are going to have a big amp room, right?

I'll go up for that. Boston is aboug 8 hours drive and I'll use my Marriott points for a hotel.

It wouldn't be an ampfest without the big room!!CaseyJones wrote:You are going to have a big amp room, right?

Either you drive slow or you're spending three hours in traffic at the GW Bridge!Bob-I wrote:I'll go up for that. Boston is aboug 8 hours drive and I'll use my Marriott points for a hotel.
I made it from well north of Boston to Kenilworth in five hours flat.

Very cool. Mapquest is often wrongggg... So 5 hours, plus another for traffic. I'm inCaseyJones wrote:Either you drive slow or you're spending three hours in traffic at the GW Bridge!Bob-I wrote:I'll go up for that. Boston is aboug 8 hours drive and I'll use my Marriott points for a hotel.

If you go anywhere near I-95 it's going to take forever, that road is grossly inadequate for the traffic volume it needs to handle. Everything around NYC needs extra lanes, plus you get bottlenecks at the bridges. Sign me up for at least an hour wait at the GW then the six buck toll!Bob-I wrote:Very cool. Coming out of Kenilworth I head straight up the Garden State all the way up to I-87. I take I-87 north and detour through Newburgh to get on I-84 east. Even if we're on our wayback from Virginia for example The Neptune Diner in Newburgh is our usual stop for eats. The Newburgh-Beacon Bridge is only around a dollar toll and there's rarely traffic. Yeah I know, you're going way west to go east but I'd rather drive 20 miles out of my way than sit in traffic for an hour. If you ONLY sit in traffic for an hour during your average I-95 drive between NYC and New Haven you're lucky.
Once you're on 84 east just keep going. I'm not exactly sure how to get into Boston from I-84 because I usually go to Boston from the north. I do know that getting out of the New York metropolitan area is a lot easier if you go around it and head for I-84. If you must do I-95 and you find yourself stuck in traffic you can usually head west via local roads then north on the Wilbur Cross Parkway, the Wilbur Cross dumps into I-91 south of Hartford.
