Gibson EB wiring

Post by jon »

I recently got an Epiphone EB3L (34" scale) for a song. I like the bass but it needs some electrical attention. When I went to look at the bass the owner dropped it and put a ding in it and broke a knob and shaft on two of the pots. Thankfully there was no other damage. I got it for $75.00.

I was thinking about turning the wiring to traditional Gibson EB style with the Varitone. I have been unable to locate an appropriate choke.

From the research I have done it appears to be two (2) 2.5H chokes is series. according to this guys research.

Code: Select all

Or on earlier models a single unit of unknown value in a metal canister.

Here are the two factory schematics, note the incorrect resistor value in the series one schematic .220K instead of the proper value 220K

Does anyone know where to get an inductor of the correct value?
