Can't exactly just where I saw it first, but the lesson was this: As a guitarist the best way to learn is through the breaths of the brass.

Clarence taught me more about how to fit a guitar into a song than any guitarist ever did.

RIP Clarence, Jungle Land was my favorite.

First off, Clarence was a sax player, not brass

As a sax player and a guitar player I couldnt agree more with you. The breathing and phrasing of clarance can be translated to any instrument.

He will be missed.

We always referred to the saxophone as a woodwind, but I guess that is wrong too....

But it is the only woodwind made of brass.

Saxophone IS a family of instrument. It's not a woodwind or brass. Most folks will refer to a sax player as either that or a reed player.

Clarence was not a virtuoso sax player, but he had a dynamic personality in his playing and stage presence. His simple melodic playing just stood out. He will be missed.
