Kit or scratch builds?

I have built most of the General Guitar Gadgets offerings and found them to be a breeze. Just follow the instructions carefully and all will be well.

The real estate is a bit tight when doing the final wire connections so mind carefully where your iron is during that process. A small conical tip is highly recommended.

Post build modifications are challenging given the circuit board toplogy and tight quarters. So...you might want to think ahead about those and install sockets on the boards where you forsee mods. They will make life tons easier in the future!

Also make sure that all of you painting/decal/etc..work is done well in advance of the final assembly.

Good luck!

it's all about layout

measure and mock it up on tape or paper.

make sure it all fits before you drill.

becareful with over heating SS components - opamps, ic's, etc.

make sure your soldering clean so you dont make shorts in tight places.

observe polarity and power phase.

other then that easy
