Re: RDjones,
No I'd never heard of your friend, did he play out quite a bit?
RE:selloutrr
There was a place in Parkland that had some nice guitars. Then there was a pawn shop on 112th and Pacific that always had some cool stuff. Guitar Maniacs is over off of St Helens in Downtown Tacoma. I used to catch the bus downtown and go to Ted Brown Music and American Music Quite a bit. That and there was Helmers Music up in Lakewood. Helmers carried alot of Boogie Body custom stuff (Lynn Ellsworth). Lynn lived in Gig Harbor, just across the bridge. There was another music store in lakewood that was a full line Soldano dealer. Spent a few hours in there playing on all the Hot Rods, SLO etc. I was just a punk kid back then, but I was super polite so they always let me play on whatever I wanted. Kinda spoiled living out there and played everything under the sun with all the music stores. Thats what led me here. I had owned everything else and wanted something not off the shelf. Went through a 5150, 3 mesas and A Bogner xtc and a Shiva (serial #10). Love warm organic sound, Just finishing up a modified 18 watt and I'm wanting more watts and tons of sustain. So I figured an express is the only way to go.

I do miss the Northwest. California is really not my scene, I can hang but it takes effort and gets way to exhausting to care. I've never been a so cal music fan - tons of idiots all wanting to be travis barker... seriously where do you go to get a jail tat out side of jail? I work with these chumps all the time it's numbing. The music stores in Southern CA. honestly aren't worth the gas to get to them. lots of junk and some over priced vintage gear. Guitar Center has pretty much put an end to the little guys here.
Sounds like an Express would be right up your alley. You might like the Fender Sunn Model T reissue it's one of my favorites the matching 4x12 is tuned like an orange cab- nice solid lows, i've seen several floating around the seattle area Craigslist lately. I also saw a Sundown Rebel in Bremerton, tempted to fly up and grab it.
