Re: My new workbench
So much stuff and everytime I start a build it seems those drawers don't contain what I need.

Re: My new workbench
that is one thing i can't seem to get enough of... storage .... i have 2 walls of 10x 60 drawer parts bins and i still need more parts and room. it feels never ending.
I bought an under counter craftsman tool chest with 5 drawers and foam panels. traced the tools on the foam and cut out the traces. It's really handy to look down and know if you are missing anything and to have it all laid out without using wall space.
you both have very nice benches how well do you feel they function for how you work? i know that is probably subjective because personally speaking i just adapt to where i am. i guess i'm curious about how you use your space to see if i can get ideas to use mine more productively.
My current set up is pretty good with it broken into sections but still not flowing like my old bench. parts land , wire, tube testing, and work area.
Do you find the drill press to be to messy to have around your work area?

I am very disatified with the work area but at least I have one more than I can say for some people that don't have my luxury.
I have a 3 stall garage as well with band saw, drill press, table saw, miter saws, chop saw, welders and other equipment. Also the my son's crap every where as he races Hornet class cars dirt track and B-mod. He also repairs ATVs, jet skis, snowmobiles and motorcycles so the garage is full.

The drill press on the work bench currently has my turret tools bolted in to it and that's all I use that one for. It was a cheap clearance item since I could not find one with a burnt out motor to use as a press only, I got this one.
I am going to tear it all apart and make a wrap around bench with below bench drawers and better functioning. Around the corner from this work room is my jam room which also has a table full of chassis/amps waiting to be assembled. In February 2012 I will be retired and going full time messing around with amps/cabs and grand kids. Can't wait, the grand kids are a blast and you already know the amps rule my life.

Maybe soon will get back at it. Hopefully things will normalize around here after the passing of my father, mother, 2 aunts, and an uncle since last Nov.
Depression is a b*tch to climb out of.
My son Alan got married the end of last month so we have gained a wonderful new daughter, so things are coming around the other way a bit.

I stopped by to post Lord Valves latest so will do that and check more posts.
Later friends,
Gary
In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird , and they take Prozac to make it normal.

Gary I miss you buddy but I sure understand with the loss in your family and all that you have been through. Sorry for your losses Gary.
All I do is attend funerals, when we were young we attended weddings and baptisms.
We have had a lot of family members pass this year as well and many co-workers and friends.
