I agree with buying a guitar the resonates well acoustically. Personally, I have had much better luck with used guitars than new ones simply because the setup is generally much better which makes it easier for me to judge how well the guitar plays and sounds.

Case in point, a friend of mine bought a new Les Paul standard a couple of years ago. When I picked up, I noticed that the intonation was really out on the first two frets. After looking at for a couple of minutes I noticed that the nut slots were not deep enough on a couple of the bottom strings, which made the notes play sharp close to the nut. It irks me that for the kind of money they charge for a supposedly professional instrument, they don't bother to do at least a rough setup to fix the obvious issues until someone points it out to them.

Ok, I'm done with my rant and I feel better now. :P

Finally got my beauty 8)
She's a Fender Japan Telecaster 62RI. So little story about her:
A year ago I went to local shop to see if there is any good stuff, a lot of Strats and Teles- mostly Korea and Mexico, few US, but a guy said that they had also one Japan Tele, I said, ok, let's see it, my God, I thought then that I'm in heaven, the neck was great and the sound too.
I went to the same shop few days ago and said that I'm looking for Strat/Tele, and they had one great Japan Tele year ago that was fantastic. The same guy said 'we've got it still'. I was shocked, played it again and felt the same thing, didn't had to think to much what to do, bought it with nice Tweed case, full oldschool 8)
I thought that I'm lucky, but when I came home I checked serial to know how old is she. On the neck there is 'Made in Japan', the new model should be Crafted In Japan ! From the serial I got info:
"Your guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1994 - 1995 "
Was she laying in warehouse for 15 years ? If that's right, I'm really lucky guy. Pickguard and neck pickup were covered with oryginall plastic. And got 2 year guaranty :D

Good deal!!

I've been wondering how come I haven't stumbled on a factory case of RCA blackplate 6L6GCs at a garage sale.
