Missing parts will inevitably be found bouncing between the piston crown and the valves on break-in.
Anything thyat can break when the store is closed... will.
Parts that are impossible to replace will be the first to fail.
Yeah a long time ago I was a diesel mechanic for local John Deere Dealer and another mechanic broke off part of a rat tail file in the engine when he was screwing around of course. Should have been an easy fix working on installing a new turbo and bad turbo oil line plus other adjustments.
I could understand blewing the engine up while under load on the dyno stepping up the injector pump farmers want more power, Scotty. But a rat tail file?
