increasing filter cap uf in a traynor

Post by selloutrr »

I'm overhawling another traynor YGL mark 3 head the last one i used two 40uf independant caps for each stick of dynamite. i was looking at a picture of another traynor that used a multi cap can. the closest i can find is 50uf 50uf. any thoughts on the increase?

any idea where i can find a 68uf @63V?

Caps are usually + or - 20%, so they're sort of the same. 50uF seems better than 40 in a four output tube amp anyway. And as long as both filters (plate and screen, right?) can be grounded in the same place, the can should be fine too.

As for the bias cap, why not just use 75/75 or 100/100. Shouldn't make a bit of difference.
