Mullard 5751 tubes made in the USA????

Post by playonit »

I just picked up some Mullard 5751 BVA tubes at a garage sale.. They are in Mullard boxes the tubes have no codes on the bottles and just say "MULLARD 5751 made in USA"

Can anyone shed some light on these tubes.. I never knew Mullard had any made in USA tubes are these decent tubes?? their going in MY DC30.

Thanks

It may be just a brand name now, I'd like to think that they are being made in usa
but I don't think so.

I believe back in the day mullard, rca, tung-sol, etc.....would do alot of relabeling and have other companies make tubes for them. The best I can tell from your picture is that it's the same tube I have in a rca box but it simply says 5751. I have several 6sl7's that are all the same but different brands. The mullard xf-2's I have in my express build are labled amperex.

I believe Mullard never manufactured a 5751, but relabeled RCA's or Tung-Sol's during that era (the Transformer looking shield logo)...

Yep that looks like a re-branded OEM sort of thing. The Mullard insignia looks different
