VOX amp schematic?

Those are all different. I also have three of Tino Zottola books and there is a good VOX AC 30 amp build in his book. But I can't submit the schematic due to copy right laws. Sorry

what kind of transistor do i use to build something like this? i have about 10 different ones sitting around from various things but will those be able to be thrown into just any amp that i build? also am i wrong but do these layouts have two and three transformers on them?

These are tube based ciruits that have a power transformer, a choke inductor, and output transformer.

If you want to go with a transistor PCB construction then you need to fine a schematic that is based on transistors.

umm, a what with what? sorry. im very new at this. i have never built an amp, just messed around with my amps and tried reading as much as i could on them. i guess i have a lot more reading to do! is there a source where all you amp builders go to get your parts? i know that pedal builders (something i HAVE done, trying to convert though) go to smallbearelec to get most of the parts they are looking for.

Putting together a pedal kit on a PCB board is quite a bit different than scratch building a Tube amp. www.AX84.com is a good place for a beginner to gather up a ton of info on tube amps, and they have a few "community" projects that are tried and true designs and are fairly simple to start out with. There are countless books out there on tube amps, one of the easier ones to pick up is by Dave Hunter, called the guitar amplifier handbook, you can usually find it at your local barnes and noble. Decent read for a beginner looking to learn. As far as sourcing parts,

I would agree to start with something like the single ended amps like the ones on http://www.ax84.com/ besides you can always use the little amps as well as the bigger brothers.

The kits they have are very reasonable and if you are not sure about drilling holes you can get a predrilled chassis as well.
