Post by Andy Le Blanc »

Is there any Blues jr upgrade opt other than MM with 4/8 ohm secondary?

Thank you, a $44 price point is a hell of a lot better than a $150 price point.
I understand trying to capitalize on a growth market but good grief. If your
gonna take it in arse, they need to pay you, not the other way round.
I don't give a damn how they justify their product, I can not ask any customer
I know to even consider MM products with the price structure they impose.
Just wait, if they dont already, They'll be winding in China.
Better yet, someone call BEHRINGER, I've got a great idea.

Haha, yeah a OT that cost 1/3rd the cost of the amp. I've had good luck on other 18watt projects using the simple Deluxe Reverb replacement OT, I may have to try it on my Jr sometime, has to be an improvement over whats in there.

At these prices, it's hard to go wrong. I used his 6k6 OT in a 'wreck with 6AQ5's, and others have posted that they like what they got from him. Like is says on his website, at the prices he's selling for, it's hard to go wrong.

The price point is the thing, I know that with modern manufacturing there is
absolutely no excuse for a retail price of a $150 on a unit where once the
operator inputs the parameters into the machine, the product unit is crapped
out for less than $10 a unit, it not like their winding with silver/nickel,
more like BS. How stupid do they think their market is. Its as bad as shopping
at wal mart. They sell 50 cent Asian T-shirts for $9.99 there, feel like puke-ing.
Do they think all DIY audio builders are fat, white, semi-aware,
with our muffin tops spilling over the waist line of our pants, as we woddle
around the isles shopping for what they tell us to want... please

Thank you for the pointers, I do hope the quality of the alternatives are
adequate, I have seen too many crap trannies to, someone will eventually
find the the right balance of quality and price point, the tube market will
still be here.
