phenolic perf boards

Post by mcrracer »

I have searched this site but can not find anything current. Does anyone know of a source for phenolic perf board with 1/8" holes? 12 inches long or so by about 5 inches wide. Or whatever size they come in that can be cut down to various sizes for different amp builds. I haven't decided on turrets or eyelets but I would like to be able to design and configure my boards on the fly. Reasonable prices for small quantities. Thanks

Get a "basic" staking tool kit. Mouser # 534-1721
and check out "wide roll eyelets" both are keystone products
there are a wide selection of matierials to choose from, checkout McMaster-Carr
they have various types of "garolite", thats the current tradename of phenolic
and phenolic laminates. there are many suppliers so it wont be too hard track down.

Nope. They don't make it anymore.

Andy was pointing you to DIY sources.

RJ (rjguitars.net) sells the board in small sheets and finished per TW spec for a very reasonable amount......

Thanks Ron,

I had a bunch of it made up a couple months back. This is copied after the old Vectorbord that was common in early Trainwreck amps. In later years Ken switched to a lighter colored board with a different hole size and spacing.

This particular board works excellent with .090 turrets and would work with the original flea clips if you can find them. As near as I can tell Allyn and Zippy are holding the world supply on those rascals.

Here is my web link if you want to take a look, you'll have to scroll down a little bit and you'll find it there.

I stand corrected. Dana (and others including myself) tried to convince various perf board makers to do some, because none was being made with holes larger than .06 or so (current Vectorboard) Always got a firm no.

What is: the exact size of the holes (3/32 in turrets are .09375), the spacing between the holes, and exact board thickness?

What kind of perf is it?

Cool.
