Rectifier socket hole?
The rectifier socket I am using has 1in. and a 1.17in. diam. shoulders. I am guessing the hole should be 1in. But that means that the metal mounting bracket is not flat against chassis. Is this correct. Also does that mounting bracket go on the outsind or inside like the other sockets?

Well there are generally sockets that are made to either be top mount or bottom mount.

Greg,
From your description I would guess you have top mounted tube sockets with a 1 inch hole try it on a piece of scrap metal or plastic or whatever and see how it looks before doing the chassis drilling.
Show us a picture of the socket if all else fails. Did you get the stuff from Allyn?

Re: Rectifier socket hole?
I have similar / or alike sockets in my 5F1 & 5E3. I mounted the bracket on the outside and used #4 nylon washers to file the gap.Greg wrote:The rectifier socket I am using has 1in. and a 1.17in. diam. shoulders. I am guessing the hole should be 1in. Re: Rectifier socket hole?
Common octal sizes are 1" and 1.125". Be warned that current issue Belton sockets seem to be 30mm. A certain major manufacturer of "repro" chassis has gone to approx. 30mm holes which leaves an ugly gap around my nice NOS sockets. GRRRRRR....
