I'm putting this little two hole liverpool in a head cab. Bottom plate obviously, but do you guys shield the rest of the cabinet? I've got a nice quantity of .010 aluminum that I could basically wrap the entire inside with if I wanted.
Also, if I just put a piece on the top inside of the cab will it do any good floating or does it need to be bonded to the chassis?
Thanks
Dan H

You can, but you'll really only be helping to shield the tubes, so I'd suggest it's probably only worth doing if you won't be using tube shields on the preamp tubes. It won't hurt though.skyboltone wrote:I'm putting this little two hole liverpool in a head cab. Bottom plate obviously, but do you guys shield the rest of the cabinet? It needs to be bonded to the chassis in order to work. Otherwise you have a piece of metal that noise can be induced into, sat fairly close to your preamp tubes.skyboltone wrote:Also, if I just put a piece on the top inside of the cab will it do any good floating or does it need to be bonded to the chassis?

+1, ungrounded unattached metal will attract hum rather then reduce it.paulster wrote:It needs to be bonded to the chassis in order to work.
