Guitar Amp Wiring Cartooons

Post by R.G. »

I condensed out the illustrations from Wiring Notes. This is closer to my original concept. All the explanation has been squeezed out, but maybe it will be useful.

RG: I see you've been hard at work on these. I kept looking for the drawing of a burly tatooed guy clipping the ground lug off of the mains plug because the venue doesn't have 3-prong receptacles but didn't find that one! (The point: sometimes the obvious is overlooked.)

Hey, I like these; thanks R.G.! For a new builder with no formal training - these are very informative. The visuals and commentary definitely help drive the points home.

Thanks! I hope these will give new builders something to think about and get up to speed quickly.

The companion booklet "Guitar Wiring Notes" explains each of these in more detail. But it grew to more than 50 pages (!) with even minimal explanation about why certain things work and others don't. It was way past the TLDR limit for many people.
