I'm here to rescue this Exile on Main St type amp, of which I have a second, and I want to remove the truly awful sounding MV, but keep the other mod, a dip switch that disengages the NFB, saving me from me having to do it later...!!
SO, hopefully my pics can help you help me to help this gem.... On the Master, the light Blue goes from the middle leg to the 4th (or 9th) pin, which hovers around C9 & not too far from R13.... Then, the Yellow wire goes from an MV outer leg to the Middle of the single Tone pot,, then the Black from the MV's other outer leg meets up with another Black cable that comes from a cluster of C's & R's the sit between the main Volume & the Tone and goes to the board, where on the other side of resides R25, C11, R16 & C8.
I know about draining filter caps, being safe, & can follow good directions..... So, exactly which wires can I simply clip & discard, and/or unsolder from the board...
Do any of those added MV wires or ones going to the board need to be terminated elsewhere or just ditched??
Thanks very much in advance for what I think is elementary for folks in the know..... not me
