Vox AC15 Power Supply help

Post by fabiomayo »

Hi everyone.

While waiting for the parts for my Dumble rebuild I got restless

I've drawn this schematic for a AC15 with a Top Boost and a EF86 channel.
Nothing new, I know... However, being such I newbie I am not able to
properly design a power supply. Can anyone help me, please, and check
what I've drawn (which I'm pretty sure is all wrong)?

[IMG:1024:696]http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a397/ ... DC30v2.gif[/img]

The first one is direct from the AC15 schems, the second one include
a few DC30 tweaks, as more filtering, 6-pos brilliance sw, different
taper and value pots, caps value...

A few questions:

1) Filtering. 'Vintage' or 'modern' amount?
2) Caps on pF range. Silver mica, ceramic or what?
3) Rectifier. EZ81, 5AR4, other? Diodes?

Thanks for your time!

By the way, someone over the Plexi Palace caught my attention to the
bass pot to ground resistor being wrong, it's a 10k not a 100k. I'll correct
it later...

you're right
and Rocket goes down to 1k (but using a 500pf cap for treble)

i like the mica stuff in the pf area (if you could have good one)

i tend to prefer the polystyrene if your valves are above the chassis (caliente el sol)

these are my liking so you have to try & keep the stuff your ears like

forgive me if you could for bad english &patati&patata...
