help- first amp head

I'm selling off my combo and buying my first head and cabinet. I was all set to get a tiny terror but then I saw some demos of the blackstar venue series. I'm still not sure that I definitively want one over the other just yet. I'm hoping to spend somewhere between 400 and 600 on the head. I found a tiny terror open box for $420, and the only Blackstar in this range ended up being $400 (the HT Studio 20), so price won't be a deciding factor between the two. I play mostly pop punk and alternative, and would like something that would fit that genre. Are both or either of them going to be sufficient for small venue gigs? I guess I could always mic either if necessary too...

Additionally, I was planning on buying a Marshall MG412 for the cab. Will that work with both of those heads?
