Teisco Checkmate 60 Schematic

Post by paddy »

Hi guys,
I am in desperate need of a schematic for a Teisco Checkmate 60 schematic. A friend has asked me to repair the amp, which he bought from an electrician who "restored" it. The guy has hopelessley miswired things so badly that it is quite difficult to make sense of the original circuit. It is a reasonably complicated amp with vibrato and reverb.
I have a circuit for the 50 watter which uses 6L6's and seems somewhat similar to the one I have which is a 60 watter with EL34's but I think there may be important differences.
Any info regarding a schematic would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Paddy

You may have to post some hi-res gutshots and draw it out and show us so we can check it

Paddy,
Is the schematic you have showing 6L6 in the output for the model #78R?
I restored a #78R for my niece and have since lost the schemo trace I did but recall it was 6L6 Outputs driven from 6SN7 cathode followers and a whole lot of 6AV6s. Would appreciate getting a copy of the schematic if that is what you have.
Sorry I can't help with the EL34 version, that one I have never seen.
Thanks,
Ian

Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies. I have struggled on without the schematic and have pretty much sorted things out. I don't know where the so called 'electician' learned his trade but he even had the mains plug reverse wired!
Sorry Ian, but the schematic I have is for the Checkmate 50 which has 12AX7's, 6L6's and 1 x 6AQ8. Good luck finding a diagram.

Cheers,
Paddy

Works fine at his house. He wired that too! You should see his brother's plumbing. Do not flush. ;)
