I know in the past, there was some discussion about the efficacy of the Master Volume on the Dumble amps.
Per the attached schematic, I can't decide if the Vol control after V2a is of any real use, especially since the Dumblator is always in the signal line, Also, I'm going to use a VVR in the power amp to control actual volume level.
I can see where there might be some minor differences afforded by using the other pre and post controls in conjuction with that pot, but I'm not sure they would be noteworthy.
Any comments on this??

The master volume helps me get a rounder clean sound by turning up the clean volume and turning down the master volume. The MV doesn't help solve the problem of how to get consistent overdrive sound. The overdrive is dependent on the setting of the clean volume control so I need to adjust the trim volume each time I adjust the preamp volume. Has anyone tried bypassing the preamp volume and by taking the OD signal directly from V1a or from the treble wiper???
