where can I have eyelet boards made?

Post by pula58 »

I need to make a number of circuit boards (each board is the same) for some amp builds. I'll be using eyelets and would like to have the boards pre-drilled with eyelets installed.

I could provide a to-scale PDF woth the hole locations, or other suitable file (DXF).

Any leads on this?

Thanks!

Hoffman board kits with eyelets

There's a link for 'design your own board'

thanks for the info!
But...the board I want to have made is custom, so, the pre-made hoffman boards wouldn't be the right thing. And the "design your own board" is a great thing, but the holes are 3/32, too large for eyelets (I have already asked Doug H about this).

What about Watts?

Or Mojo?

http://www.mojotone.com/amp-parts/Fiberboards

(You'll have to DIY them from the parts)

I am hoping to avoid DIY. What I'd like to do is design the board using DIY, then, transfer the design to a CAD tool, and then be able to give someone a file and have them build the boards. This way I ca ncrank out a number of amps without having to make the boards from scratch all the time.

I can not recommend Watts enough - they make beautiful boards. Its very affordable. Their turrets are awesome too!

Definitely worth a little extra money for what they do.

Also, I recommend garolite and turrets over fiber and eyelets. Just my 2 cents.

did you try turretboards.com? just email him and ask him if he'd make you up some boards. he does custom chassis work. maybe custom board work would be done too.

If you're talking about making eyelet boards out of vulcanized fiberboard ala Fender it's ridiculously easy to do. I've built a dozen or so of them and I don't know much of anything.

At some point you might try making a template out of sheet metal. Just clamp and drill.

I did a blog entry that details the entire process. Easier than I thought possible. If I want to make a board it takes me about fifteen minutes to a half hour to knock one out.

We have 6 5E3 chassis so the guys wanted to build two amps. Had a turret board so I cut, marked, drilled and installed short turrets yesterday. It was fast and easy.

The original turret board I started with had very small turrets so I had to use a piece of wire chucked into my drill to run down the turret holes to mark all the turret locations on the new boards. Worked like a champ.
