I got an old dual-trace Hitachi 40 mhz unit on Ebay for fifty bucks maybe five years ago. Ain't rocket science and you can't digitally capture the image but it works pretty well for audio signals. There seem to be a lot of guys trying to put their kids through school on the buy-it-now side but the auctions are still pretty reasonable.

Caveat: you can pay a lot for a probe (don't read too much into that comment). If you go used, try to get one with the probe included. I also got a little Rolls signal generator for around forty dollars that has worked great. sh
