Strategies: broken mixer n japanese saw disjoinery

Post by Reeltarded »

1st, its been bugging me for months. I could tell there was a change right away, but I was busy with other stuff. The channel mixer (470k/470k) on a typical 4 hole Marshall. I broke that. There is no Vol II, nor any termination at the head of V2a but for Vol I's mix resistor, and 470p bypass.

What do I need to add to mimic there being a mixer there?

Does a mixer act like a backward voltage divider in that manner? In that case I would add a 470k to ground from the junction of the 470k/470p and the grid feed for V2a, right?

Hmm.. 2nd thing. Bluesbreaker project just got more parts. I bought George's last bb board! Yay!

So, imagine the layout. V1 V2 V3 |power tubes| V6 (trem) V7 (rec). My amp will use V6 as the PI, V1 is an ef86, 2-3 are v1 and v2 from normal setup.

I am cutting the trem end of the board off down to the bias circuit. No trem, and I am using it to stake out the ef86. Should I swap places with the PI and BIAS setions as well? What makes sense noise wise with signal crossing the power to get to the PI? I mean really cutting the board into 3 sections and rejoining them.

Better idea not to get creative and leave the PI section of the board in it's normal placement, and just use longer wires? No idea? Me either. I have a nice saw. Paper thin kerf lol
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.
