I was recently looking at a schematic (Gibson Super 400) and noticed that they were using a 6V6GT as a voltage regulator between the plates and the screens.
Can someone please the principal being used here.

Here you can see a Kit using a pair of 6v6 and the relative schematic

Re: Tube Voltage Regulators
Thanks, but I was actually looking for the principals being employed. How does it work, why does it work, how can I use it in a build
edit:
I just found this article that explains a lot.

I've been working with some pretty high plate voltages lately and I have been looking for a good way to control my screen voltage so I don't cook my power tubes. Another way I thought was to employ a VVR after the plate supply to set the voltage for the rest of the amp including the screens.

Re: Tube Voltage Regulators
Using a VVR is easier and doesn't use up space, produce heat, and is somewhat simpler to execute. Tube screen regulators are pretty hip though. Plush used them in a few models in the past.
Proud holder of US Patent # 7336165.

I've seen valves (tubes) used for power scaling purposes quite recently by Matamp in the UK.
