Red Swirl Board Material

Post by jon »

I just ran out of my red swirl board material. Does anyone know were to get more. I think I bought it from McMaster the last time but I don't remember what it was.

It's called GPO3. I used to use this but it's nasty to cut as fibre glass shards fly off this stuff all over the place. G10FR4 is much nicer to work with. Harder and wears on blades faster, but no pelting with shards.

Watts Tube Audio has it (http://www.turretboards.com/) but not with wholesale prices. I'm also not sure if it is G10FR4 or not (my preference). Cutting fiberglass is not on my list of fun things to do.

I have bought both from McMaster-Carr, which has really reasonable prices and wicked fast shipping.

When I lived in Southern California I ordered some Fr-4 from them once right near the end of the business day with UPS ground and it showed up on my doorstep the next morning and they hadn't even ran the charge through on my credit card yet.

I normally buy 3" wide by 6' lengths. They last me about two years. I am currently building a RX ES and that amp has a very wide board about 6" so I ordered a 12 by 24 sheet. thanks guys.
