Dr Z Prescription

Post by Markusv »

Hi

A friend has a Z Prescription and would like me to put in a MV (PPIMV)
Does anyone know whether the amop is a good candidate?
Also, I would love to find a schematic for this amp as they seem to be hen's teeth.

If not available, please could anyone provide me a rough description of the schem. I assume its heavily AC30 based?

Any help much appreciated
Thank you in advance

There are several versions of the Dr Z Prescription and then the RxES came out which had several versions as well mostly changes in the overdose boost function switching.

Dr. Z provided the board layout for us of the original Prescription already in another thread.

Thanks Mark

Found it.
I would love to see the schematic although the layout provides a lot of info.
It's just nice to have the schem too

I think Dr Z offered the MV as a custom option but I really don't think this amp would get any benefit from a PPIMV but I could be wrong.

To install the PPIMV see the TW files Section for Ken F. various amp mods which include the PPIMV. The PI and power section are like the TW Rocket's schematic or Vox AC 30. Naturally there are slight differences.

Thanks again!

To be clear, I should have said LarMar master volume.
I have one on my EL34 rocket and it works pretty well. I believe there are others on the forum who have used it too?
The only thing is that it is perhaps less useful at really low overall volume settings. I do have one on a liverpool where the useful range is somewhat greater. Loses the amp's charcter quicker on the Rocket.
But if the PI and Power section are similar to a Vox then perhaps there is hope

I can always install non-invasively and remove if its a failure
