Son-of-a....

Post by Lonely Raven »

I was looking for some domino caps, my Magnatone is full of these, and I've never had one go bad...I thought I'd hunt some down and try them in a Fender build for fun...and then I found this.

I've got shoeboxes full of those caps. What values are you looking for?

You're not taking this seriously. Obviously the different colours enable the wearer to become more-attuned to different spaces by blocking out stray cosmic frequencies from the surrounding environment.

But seriously - what a waste of perfectly good caps

Time for a Global Domino-Mica Vault.

I find that picture deeply disturbing. My dog used to steal orange colored caps. Now what if "her indoors" finds my meagre stash of domino micas?

I'd give 'em a go. Especially if the pigtails are cut too short to use for anything else and these things are too available to be doing anything like.... leads extensions or anything like that. Save a rubbished oscilloscope or commercial transceiver from the landfill and clip out all that you need. These are worth salvaging as they are seldom bad......

Have the bigger screw-mounted micanol bypass capacitors used in transmitter service. They come in two colours - tan and liver-coloured. Haven't used any, yet. Played a couple of games of checkers, though.......
