Orange "Dips" ????

Post by dreric »

Does any one know anything about the orange "dips" caps sold by justradios.com?

http://www.justradios.com/capkits.html

I can't get a clear answer from the owner, does anyone know if these are the same as the Mallory PVC6** caps?

Thanks

I'm not sure if they're exactly like the mallory ones or not, but they are much smaller than sprague orange drops or even the yellow mallory caps. I use them all the time, and the yellow tubular caps he sells are excellent and super cheap too. I buy all my coupling caps from him, highly recommended, and try some of the polystyrene's he's got too.

That's good to know. I came across him as being the just about the only vendor I can find selling a 10 x 10 @ 500v can which the Dumble 124 calls for.

RJ sells the Mallory caps, he's got to get them from somewhere!

Website claims they are 225P series. These are good quality polyester caps.

Use them all the time too

Have used other caps from other vendors too- but this guy is consistent, well priced, helpful , ships fast etc
Like his resistors too

He told me once that the caps are made for (or by) Cornell -Dubilier. Not sure if I understood correctly
He also sells green mylars in bulk and I've tried them- they sound surprizingly good!

Made by ETR in Taiwan, who also supplies Cornell-Dubilier (and numerous others) on an OEM basis. Same caps, different markings.
