There's one that's actually funny. Says it reproduces frequencies only dogs can hear.

I don't think they're knocking the amp so much as the audiophule.

Agreed......it's not the item(s) in the commercial being ridiculed, but the individuals' rational for buying it.

When I first saw that commercial, I was reminded of a friend rationalizing to his wife why he needed a third Ampeg bass amp:

"You see, dear, there's this theory in music harmony that two instruments together will tend to sound out-of-tune while three will blend harmoniously- see, that's why I need a third B-15, so I won't be out of tune!..."

I shouldn't throw stones, as I've used some spurious rationales when looking at old tube amps! :D

it's not a knonck on tube amps it's making fun of people who don't know anything about what they buy they just buy the best to say they have the best. "car" acura is trying to push threw to the higher end market with a "responsible buyer, get features for your money, marketing campaign"

IMHO the best product in that commercial is the tube amp and the second if his want to be deos esqis most interesting man in the world beard

Once you have enough amps, your wife will never notice one more.

Why would he tell her? That's like asking for trouble... just stash the money away and buy it... 3 years later when she asks "you have 3?" the answer is "those old things, I've had them for years" :P

Quite frankly, she was too scary and too quick to try that. She once keyed his pickup truck because some other girl was dancing for too long in front of him (I suppose he was to stop playing and ask her "Young lady, wouldn't you be happier over there in front of the guitarist? He's single!). :D

I just always made that tired argument : "But...it'll be an INVESTMENT!" ;)

Been there, done that. It costs a lot of money to upgrade... but it is worth it. :D
