Glue for speaker dust cap????

I've got a speaker out of an early 70s Super Reverb that the dust cap has come off of. Speaker sounds fine. Voice coil is still secured to the cone.

The dust cap pushes back into place with no issues. Can I just re-glue the dust cap? Any common glue I can use or do I need something "special"?

Plain ol' white glue is fine.

E-6000 works great on speakers as well. It makes a very strong bond but remains flexible enough to work well in a speaker.

I've used Block Surf, a wetsuit cement, for both dust caps and speaker repair, with very good results. It can be a little difficult to work with, it repairs easily enough, but it takes a little practice to make it look good.

I believe this is the same adhesive that is used on most speakers. It used to be referred to as Bostik (back when I worked at Altec), which is really the brand name. I recently got some of this to fix a dust cap gap on a celestion 8".
