Re: 6G15 Reverb
I think I'd get the 6G15 bundle from Triode Electronics, $60 and one stop shopping. Those are Magnetic Components products and will be close to the originals. The reissue voltages are 289 and 244 on the power supply nodes, and the original is at 295 and 250 according to the schematics.

It looks to be the same Xformers I am looking at, for about the same price.
But, when it comes to a lot of other components, I'll still have to go to AES anyways, like especially for a 4AB3C1C Mod reverb tank for $18.
AES would be one-stop shopping with free ground shipping if only they had the OT... Maybe I should just go for the HAmmond 1760C from them. I would have to pay an extra $30 over the 47609, but perhaps I would save almost that on shipping from somewhere else, and get something more accurate...

Hey guys!
I wanted to thank you guys for the help!
Kazooman, your pics were extremely invaluable when it came to figuring out reverb pan mounting too.
I didn't get to caught up in trying to clone the original, but just wanted something that would work well, and it does.
Also, I went with the reverb driver from Triode because Angela was also out of them... quite the in demand unit!
Anyways, so far, I am actually loving it straight into my Liverpool... also ditched my pedals for a gig I would normally use them for because just the reverb was all the treat we needed.
Oh ya, I ended up using "roasted Maple" for the front and rear faceplates. I like it. Just used 3 coats of wipe-on poly. Nice and quick!

Re: 6G15 Reverb
First I should point out that I went on tour this summer using just strat, liverpool and a speaker cab. I left my pedals behind because I'm usually attempting to be more of a purist... but that could sound rather deadening outdoors in the middle of fields with nothing for the sound to bounce off of... a bit of reverb would have been appreciated. We take it for granted that we get it almost all the time indoors.Mark wrote:What does the whole rig sound like?
Well, this reverb is capable of some of the sproingiest dripping wet reverb I've tried and I am probably overdoing it for now, but that's to be expected. Also, its still so new to me that it will probably take a few more days of seizing empty house opportunities to really analyze it.
I seem to dial in as much as I can without having it ring out too much on the dwell when digging in for some distortion from the liverpool. I think there's a balance to find where I can ride my liverpool from clean to mean in my usual style without having the reverb cause me to pull back...I should probably back the reverb off there instead (but for now it is too fun to be drenched in it).
I used the reissue style grounding components and it came out very quiet. Doesn't cause any noise in front of the liverpool (which is more I could ever say for my Holy Grail Reverb that recently died).
Using this cab with my Liverpool is actually new too. I had 4 10s in it before and it did not sound good at all with my Liverpool so I just recently made a new baffle (this week too) and put in my fav 2 12" combo in this cab. (WGS ET65 and WGS Retro 30). This cab is solid fir (with Purpleheart) and I feel like my tone is woodier (a slight hollower sound- maybe less firm in the low mids) than when I had these speaker in my baltic birch ply cab. I think it works out well because the speakers seem to make up for where the cab would make other speakers displeasing (like those Vet 10s).
So far, I think I've found I rig I am really happy with (I change things up constantly!). We shall see how this unfolds, I could see myself just going over to adjust the dwell knob depending on the song...
Re: 6G15 Reverb
Great job with the spring mounts! It sounds like you are very happy with the results. I am glad that my input helped you on your project.

Thanks so much for the pics of mounting the tank. This will really help me greatly. I made a unit to spec and it sounds great. I just screwed in the tank to box which at certain times when giging makes the tank vibrate. I have to turn the unit off then wait then turn it back on so I think I am going to re-mount the tank like your in pics.
I also would like to make a foot pedal to turn the verb off does anyone have a plan for that? I just never thought about a foot switch before.

Re: 6G15
The foot pedal is just a SPST switch connected to the reverb with some shielded cable. It shorts the output from the reverb tank to ground.
A good choice would be a Carling switch like this:

You could put it in any metal enclosure for shielding purposes.

Thanks so much for all your great pics after looking at them I see I have to make some minor alterations to my unit. The first is swap out the 9 pin tube socket there is a fault in it where it looses contact with the tube pins. It's just a bad socket. I will mount the tank like in your pics hopefully that will prevent some of the vibration with the springs when gigging. I have had other fender amps with verb that didn't vibrate of course the tanks were floor mounted maybe that makes a difference. However they do not have the depth of this unit it is like night and day. Thanks for getting back to me on the switch. The best to you during the holidays.
