The repair dude did'nt want to repair my amp... "too much trouble"...

These repair dudes are so grumpy...

I gave him his 20$ and got back home.

Took the new P.T. out.

Old one in... put in a 68K 1w and voila...poifect -45 voltage...

My only concern now is that the Hammond 273X P.T. is almost touching the rectifier and 6L6...

I'll get a new 290CX and return the dud!

Have you got more than 1/8"? IMO, that is sufficient if there is no induced hum.

Don't keep fixing it until it's broken. Congratulations.

got 1/8" on one 6L6 and a little over 1/8" on the rectifier, but there no noise and the amp sound glorious. I guess it's all right...I'm staying put and enjoying Leo's work!!

I'm happy as can be!!!

For the record...

just got a call from Denise at partsconnexion.com

Hammond will send me a new 290CX in a couple of days...

Not to bother returning the defective one...

Good service from the folks at Hammond.

Thanks!! :D
