Here's a picture of the display on the 453. There are 15 divisions above center and 15 below. 15x5 =75 x 10 =750. I kinda think you need to take another look.

Methinks you hit the nail on the head! Doh. I was thinking big divisions, not subdivisions.

I just picked up a 465 with the DM44 voltmeter attached to it. I haven't attached the probes to any high dc voltages yet, but so far it seems to work great for viewing an output waveform.

I still have to get some higher wattage resistors to make a dummy load for the bigger amps, but I briefly hooked up my 18Watter to a 20W load resistor and was viewing things at low volume settings to make sure it works.

Nice find with the DM44. That set up on a cart is in every Comms room at every pump station on the Alaska pipeline. All the techs ever use it for is the DM44. Sigh.....
