Tube need to breathe? I am going to try that. What do you drill glass with? I'll figure it out!

New amps - new tubes... Good vibes with Tung-Sol RI and Sovtek 12AX7LPS (thanks Dave;)) in the pres, JJs and Winged Cs for power.

For my own amps I pull out the good stuff. I have a VHT Special 6 Ultra with a Mullard 5881, a Mullard 12AX7 in #1 and an RCA black-plate in #2. Cathode bias is adjustable so no worries.

Nothing in my personal collection suffers from crappy-tube syndrome if I can help it. It's not my fault though, people keep giving me boxes and trash bags full of tubes. Hell, an old radio transmission tech gave me a KS 15874-L2 last week along with an HP Oscillator and a box of tubes worth over a couple grand! I love those kind of people!!! They feed my insanity.

I can't sell them. They are untested except for in a couple amps. They sound good if the amp is remote but you don't want the head on the cab or near a mic.

hahaha
