I didn't think it was but after watching the video a few times I do think it is Greg V.

What's up with his Converse red tennis shoes no shoe laces or using short laces on the top only

Wow.!
Greg sue looks different. :o
Funny you mention the shoes. I bought a pair of Converse from Target, and the laces are just in the top 3-4. You cannot even lace the bottom eyelets. I was wishing they came in Red (I guess they do) when I bought my Blue pair.

Yeah, it's like he aged 10 years since I watched one of his demos.

But when I went to his website it appears it is him.

Hey Tom -
He was always such a "cool" guy, and his gear/amp demos were The Best Ever.
A bit out of place for me to say, but I wonder if "something" happened in his life.?
He kind of looks worn out. Maybe it is just the glasses (or lack there of).
Good Luck to all of us

I wonder if they're going to sell some of those new production varistors to the amp geeks?

It will be a safely guarded secret for years but eventually we'll find out. :)

While we're waiting to find out if we can get some of those new production varistors, I went out and picked up a Magnatone M13. It comes with 4 varistors and works....

I'd still like to know if the Neo Magnatone company will sell us some spare varistors. Anyone have a contact number for them?

Eventually service parts will have to make their way into the consumer supply chain. Be patient.

Im in the process of building a 214 for a customer at the moment.
Its an AMAZING circuit. Sounds stellar.....even if it did cost me $100 for a pair of Varistors.

Couldn't quite bring myself to point to point this as my OCD just wouldn't allow it.

Spectacular. More info more picts. Where are the varistors? Did you get old ones off ebay or actually were able to buy the new ones? Looks pretty easy when built on a board compared to the orig mess. I think you deserve your own sub-forum.

The filaments are terrific, brilliant implementation. I thought of trying it too ala Soldano, but yours is a much better. For myself I'd be really worried I'd accidentally short out the heaters when probing around and loose the PT in flash. I need to think about it, I really hate doing heater wiring but this looks like big fun. A rip-off might be coming up, that's what you get for posting on the internets.

You could slip teflon tube over those exposed runs.

Even now, you can split it and click it on.

Do not limit yourself to what others think is reasonable or possible.

I thought of that too, but it wouldn't look so slick. I use a lot of clear teflon tubing in ptp amps. it sucks up flux by capillary action and looks like poo. not sure splitting it would look spiffy either. maybe if I could find black tubing. Best and it would keep the clean industrial vibe would be clear corona dope applied after all is finished and working and no need to resolder anything.
