Yeah you probably shouldn't have burned the bridges that you did with that guy, that is a bad habit to get into in general. His price was not bad either, I usually charge closer to $80/hr for PCB/solid state amp repair with a minimum $40 bench fee.. TBH the cheaper the amps get the more I will charge to work on them as they tend to be the most difficult to fix. Peavey does a great job of making easy to work on amps though so I will charge accordingly and, again, I think you got a very fair repair price. Some people really are just too busy but refuse to get help and I think this is where your repair guy ran into issues. I know most of the local guys won't call me unless they have hit a brick wall and need someone to save their ass for a repair :D.
